Yes, dogs can eat peanut butter. Both of my dogs eat peanut butter, because when I give them their pills I give it to them in a spoon of peanut butter to hide it. I’m not sure if they can be allergic to it but none of mine are.

I have never heard of a dog being allergic to peanut butter but i suppose it is possible, some dogs do have allergies to certain foods. I do know that it is one of the healthier treats for dogs and they do enjoy it. You may want to ask your grandmother if her dog does have allergies to foods, if not i guess i really wouldn’t worry about feeding her peanut butter. But make sure the ingredients in the treats is healthy for dogs besides the peanut butter, so you may want to contact a vet or look online for healthy home made dog treats.

Dogs can be allergic to peanut butter, but I have never experienced any problems feeding it to my dogs. I have a dog that has severe separation anxiety and I put peanut butter in her "kong" to keep her busy for a while after I leave to go to work, the store, etc. You may want to have your grandmother give her dog a little bit to see how he/she reacts to it just to be on the safe side.

From all the googling I've been doing on dogs and peanut butter, apparently it is quite rare for a dog to be allergic to peanut butter.  But the truth is that a dog can become allergic at any time just like humans.  My dog had a severe allergic reaction, not just itching, I mean his head, lips, eyes, nose swelled up so fast I didn't know if I would make it to the emergency vet in time.  Funny thing is he has had peanut butter before, only a few times though.  Be careful folks, when giving your pets any new food use very small amounts to see how they react.
