Just wondering. Dog doesnt like anything store bought and would like to try making something myself to see if he likes it.
Veggie Bones Ingredients 2 3/4 C. Flour 2 Tbls. Bran 2 Tsp. Baking Powder 3 C. Minced Fresh Parsley (good for doggie breath) 1/4 C. Shredded Carrots 1/4 C. Shredded Cheese (your choice–mozzarella, cheddar) 2 Tbls. Olive Oil 1/2 Tsp. Flaxseed (optional) 1/2 C. Water Directions: Preheat oven 350 degrees. Lightly grease a cookie sheet. Mix together parsley, carrots, cheese and oil. Combine the dry ingredients separately from the veggie mixture. Slowly add 1/2 c. water and mix well. Dough should be moist but not wet. Knead for a minute. Roll out dough to 1/4" thickness. Using cookie cutters of your choice, cut out shapes and place on baking sheet. Bake 20-30 minutes until biscuits have browned and hardened slightly. They will continue to harden as they cool. Store in an airtight container once throughly cooled. Makes 2 to 3 dozen Rye Dog Bones Recipes Ingredients: 2 Cups Rye Flour ½ Cup Veg. Oil 2/3 Cup Warm Water ¾ Cup Rice Flour ¼ tsp. Vanilla Directions: Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl until smooth. Roll out onto a floured surface and cut into bone shapes. Baked in a greased baking sheet for 30 minutes at 350. Approx. 2 doz. (unless you make them really big!) Apple Cinnamon Dog Treats Apple Cinnamon Dog Treats Ingredients: 1 c. Natural Applesauce(or chopped apple) 1 tsp. Cinnamon 1 Tbl. Parsley 1 c. Cold water 1/2 c. Veg. Oil 5 c. Flour 1/2 c. Powdered milk 2 large Eggs Directions: Preheat the oven 350 degrees. Combine all of the ingredients — add oil or water if dough needed. Roll out dough to desired thickness and cut into fun shapes using cookie cutters. Bake 20 -25 minutes until browned. Delicious Oatmeal Dog Treats 3 Cups Oatmeal, uncooked 1 1/2 Cups whole-wheat flour 1 Cup cold water 1 Tablespoon parsley, chopped (All natural breath freshener) 2 Egg yolks 1 Teaspoon baking soda Mix all ingredients together. Spoon onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Place on a cooling rack. Store in refrigerator for up to 2 months. yogurt frosting FROSTING FOR ANY DOG TREAT "We use this sometimes to dress dog treats, especially the ones we give as gifts." 6 ounces fruit baby food 2 tablespoons smooth peanut butter 1/3 cup plain yogurt 1/4 cup wheat germ 1 tablespoon beef bouillon granules Place baby food fruit (any flavor) and peanut butter in small bowl; blend well. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Use as a frosting or a dip for dog treats. Spread on the dog treat immediately before serving. Store frosting in the refrigerator. Makes 1 cup
