Peanut Butter Dog Treats

I am looking for a dog biscuit recipe, anyone have one to share?

Title: Fido’s Favorite Treats

Yield: 10 servings

1.00 c Uncooked Oatmeal
1.00 tb Bouillon Granules
0.75 c Powdered milk
1.00 Egg, Beaten
0.33 c Margerine
1.50 c Hot Water
0.75 c Cornmeal
3.00 c Whole Wheat Flour

Servings: 10

In a large bowl pour hot water over oatmeal, margerine, and bouillon
granules: let stand 5 minutes. Stir in powdered milk, cornmeal and egg. Add
flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Knead 3 to 4
minutes, adding more flour if necessary to make a very stiff dough. Pat or
roll dough to 1/2 inch thikness. Cut into bone shapes and place on a
greased baking sheet. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 50 minutes. Allow to
cool and dry out until hard. Makes approximately 1 3/4 pounds.

Title: DOG BISCUITS

3.50 c Flour
2.00 c Whole wheat flour
1.00 c Rye flour
1.00 c Cornmeal
2.00 c Cracked wheat
4.00 ts Salt
0.50 c Dry milk
1.00 Egg
1.00 pk Dry yeast (1 T)
1.00 pt Chicken stock

Ingredients not generally available may be found at health food stores.
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 c warm water. Add chicken stock and pour into dry
ingredients. Knead for 3 minutes, working into a stiff dough. Roll dough
into a 1/4 in. thick sheet and cut with cookie cutters (cutters shaped like
dog biscuits are available). Bake in 300 degree oven for 45 minutes, then
turn oven off and leave biscuits in oven overnight. In the morning the
biscuits will be bone hard.Note: This dough is extremely stiff to work

There are some dog treat recipes that I have that call for desiccated liver. I’ve never even heard of it. Where can you buy it? Does anyone know of any stores that sell it? I’m talking about the actual liver, not the tablets or supplements.

A lot of health food stores carry it so do gyms that have their own product line or store. Body builders put it in smoothies and the like (shudder).

I recently baked some fun cookies in the shape of hot dogs. When I gave them to a friend, she suggested that we could make something similar for dogs and sell them in her (very dog-oriented) community. Does anyone know any good recipes for dog biscuits, preferably something that can be shaped or used with cookie cutters? And are food colorings and decorator gels healthy for dogs? What ingredients should I avoid?

I am looking for a recipe for peanut butter treats for my grandmas dog. She does flyball with him and he is food orientated of course and she wants to make some treats with mostly peanut butter and very little flour. I guess you could say more like peanut butter balls but not sticky. If you have any ideas that would be great!!!!
